Placker allows teams to create and manage template views at a team level. This functionality ensures consistency across projects by sharing predefined views. This article will guide you through the process of setting up team template views in Placker.

What are Team template views?

Team template views are predefined views that can be shared among all members of a subscription. These views can be set up by any team member and made visible to others, so that everyone can benefit from it.

Having this set up will lead to consistency (all team members are using the same views), efficiency by saving time on view creation and collaboration by providing a common ground for discussing project data.

How to set visibility of Template views

1. Create a new view:

Add one of the Placker views and customize it as shown in this article.

2. Set the visibility of the view:

Click the arrow at the right of the view title and select which members will have access to it, as shown in the screenshot below.

3. Confirm and save:

Click "Save" to finalize the creation of your template view.

If the copied view contains custom attributes that are not in the current board, Placker will ask if you want to add them, making the view fully compatible with the new board.

Managing Template Views

After there are views set as visible to the whole team, they will become available in the Team section at the sidebar of the template picker.

For more information on Adding a Template View, please refer to this article.

Removing a Template View

To remove a view that was added to the templates, you can follow the same steps to change the visibility to not shared with the team.

There is also an option for subscription leads to have the authority to remove template views from the template picker. This way, they can control which templates are available, keeping the template picker organized.

Applying a View Template to one of your boards

A simple way to share a template or add it to another board is to generate a link from any native or user-created template, enabling you to paste it on any of your imported boards.

To do this, hover the mouse over one of your templates and click Copy Link. When someone pastes it, there will be a screen with a selection of the board where it will be applied.

Conclusion

Team template views in Placker are a valuable feature for enhancing team collaboration and maintaining consistency across boards. By setting the visibility of views, teams can ensure that everyone has access to the same tools and perspectives.
