The board view mode on Placker allows you to organize and edit cards with efficiency.

The board view mode on Placker is very similar to Trello and Planner, that's why many users find it intuitive to use. Furthermore, it's fully in sync, so you can update cards there and they will be updated in the connected platforms.


You can use filters, layouts and card settings to customize it to fit your way of working.

The easiest way to get to the Board view in Placker is by accessing Placker.com in your browser and signing in with your Trello or Planner account. Alternatively, you can enable the power-up on a Trello board and use the Board button as a shortcut.

Board view structure

At the menu, there are mainly 4 buttons: Settings, Filters, Layout and Me/Team.

Settings: select which attributes you want to display in the card front. In the example below, we have disabled every attribute except for duration and members. This results in a clean overview, but that still shows important information when it comes to analyzing task times and assignments.

You can also set layout options, such as whether empty lists and boards will be shown or hidden, and combined boards options, like merging lists with the same title or not.

The example board above has a list called “Waiting”, but it has no cards, and “Show empty lists” is disabled, therefore this list will not be visible, resulting in more space for the data that matters on what is being analyzed.

Filters: apply filters to search for a specific card, show or hide them based on their attributes and select a date range.

For example, a filter can be set so that Placker only show cards that will be due this month, so a manager can analyze the upcoming tasks and make sure they are planned properly.

Layout: use the layout setting to change the way in which columns are organized, providing different points of view on the data available.

  • Default layout (with lists, same as Trello and MS Planner),

  • Grouped by attribute (a column for each member for instance, showing the cards assigned to them),

  • Swimlane (similar to group, but having horizontal section splits)

  • Planner (organized by due date).

Me/Team: this toggles between seeing all cards on the board or only the ones assigned to yourself. It is a quicker alternative to creating a filter and selecting yourself as a member.

The example below has cards assigned to me using the Planner layout by month:

Now, you can right click a card and choose from additional options and quickly accomplish more tasks. There are links to create a duplicate, move to another list, get the card URL, archive and delete.

Board background

In the board settings option, there is now the ability to include an image as a background, making the board more personalized according to the team’s preferences.

In case you don’t wish to add an image, but want to make the boards different, you can also select a color, which will then be set as the background color of the board.
