Card Table is probably the most versatile widget in Placker's Report view. It allows users to visualize and analyze data in a tabular format, that is, users can customize the columns to fit their specific needs.

When a Card Table is useful for your projects

With the Card Table widget, you can choose which card attributes to include as columns, such as due date, member, or status. The rows are the cards on a board.

So for a report where viewers would like to see details on the card level, and not only an overview, it's recommended to include this widget.

Furthermore, the Card Table widget supports various filtering and sorting options, allowing users to focus on specific subsets of data. This flexibility enables users to quickly identify trends, spot bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions.

Examples of Card Table

In the screenshot above, you can see a table that shows how all cards on the card and the information related to them.

Since this board has a lot of attributes filled (status, label, member, due date, progress and traffic light), many of them were selected to be displayed in the columns.

As a general rule, Card Table can be used for:

  • Tasks in a project

  • Purchase orders in a product board

  • Epics on a development board

  • Any other case where it's beneficial to see data from cards

Configuring the Card Table Widget

Once you have added the widget, you can set the preferences, most importantly the columns to be displayed.

Clicking Show More will include more cards in the table and clicking one of the header attributes will sort by that attribute.

You can also click and card row to open that card overview and be able to edit it there directly, without having to switch to the Board view.

There are the options when you configure the Card Table widget, as in the example above, and hovering the titles in the report view will show more information on them:

Conclusion

The Card Table widget in Placker's Report view is a versatile and user-friendly tool that enhances data visualization and analysis. Its customizable columns and filtering capabilities make it an indispensable element to add to the Report view for managing projects effectively.
