Placker's Repeat feature lets you automatically create copies of a card on a schedule — perfect for recurring tasks, weekly check-ins, or any work that happens on a regular cadence.

How to Set a Card to Repeat

  1. Right-click on any card in your board view to open the context menu.

  2. Select Repeat from the menu options.

  3. Configure your repeat settings in the panel that appears (see below).

Right-click on a card and select Repeat from the context menu.

Once a card is set to repeat, a circular arrows icon (↻) will appear on the card's front, indicating it is set as recurring. Hovering over the icon shows a "Card is repeated" tooltip.

Repeat Settings

The repeat settings panel lets you configure schedule, destination, and due date behavior.

When should the card be repeated?

Repeat type — Choose how often the card should recur: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or other intervals.

Repeat on — For weekly repeats, select which days of the week the card should be created. You can select multiple days.

Time & Timezone — Set the exact time and timezone at which the new card should be generated (e.g., 12:00 AM, America/Sao_Paulo).

Where should the card be created?

Board — Choose which board the new card copies should be placed in.

List — Choose which list within that board the new cards should land in (e.g., "To do").

How should the due date be updated?

When a new card is created from the repeat, you can control what happens to its due date:

  • Clear due date — The new card is created without any due date.

  • Set a specific due date — Assign a fixed or relative due date to each new copy.

Additional Settings

Source card behavior — You can choose how Placker handles the original card when generating new copies:

  • Always use this card to create new copies — The original card acts as a permanent template. Each repetition creates a fresh copy from this source card.

  • Use newly created cards as the source — Each newly created card becomes the source for the next repetition, allowing the card's content to evolve over time.

Tips

  • The ↻ icon on the card front is a quick visual indicator that a card is set to recur — no need to open the card to check.

  • If you want recurring tasks to always start fresh, use the original card as the source and set the due date to "Clear."

  • Use the Board and List settings to route recurring cards directly into your workflow (e.g., always landing in "To do").

Removing a Repeat

To stop a card from repeating:

  1. Click the card to open it.

  2. At the top of the card detail panel, you'll see a "Card is repeating" section showing the current schedule (e.g., Every week on mon, tue, wed, thu, fri at 00:00 America/Sao_Paulo time).

  3. Click the trash icon to the right of the recurrence schedule.

  4. A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to confirm the deletion.

  5. Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to go back.

Note: Deleting a recurrence is permanent and cannot be undone. Any card copies already created will remain on the board.
