Cards that are mirrored across two different boards, and have lists with the same title, are automatically moved to the corresponding list by default. This ensures that the cards stay updated in both boards without the need to manually move them to each place.
However, there may be cases where the list titles are not exactly the same. In such cases, it is still possible to keep the cards in sync by setting up progress tracking to make the lists match.
For example, let's say the Team board has a list called "Completed" instead of "Done". In this case, you can set progress tracking to inform Placker that all cards in the "Completed" list have the status of "completed". The same setup should be done for the "Done" list in the other board.
You can find detailed steps on how to set up progress tracking in this article. Here is an example of how it would work:
Once the list mapping is set, moving a card to the "Done" list will automatically set its status as "completed", which will be reflected in the mirrored card and trigger its movement to the "Completed" list. The same process works in reverse as well.
Another way to achieve this is by using a rule that mirrors cards to matching lists and archives them when they are no longer on a list. For more information on mirror rules, refer to this article.
Using the same example, you can create three rules:
When a card is in the "To Do" list on the Team board, mirror it to the "To Do" list on the Personal board, and archive the mirrored card when it is no longer in the list.
When a card is in the "In Progress" list on the Team board, mirror it to the "Doing" list on the Personal board, and archive the mirrored card when it is no longer in the list.
When a card is in the "Done" list on the Team board, mirror it to the "Completed" list on the Personal board, and archive the mirrored card when it is no longer in the list.
Note: Archiving is important to prevent the creation of multiple mirrored cards when cards are moved across lists.
Both methods will result in cards being mirrored in matching lists. You can choose the method that works best for your workflow.
