What are Trello Mirrors?

Trello recently introduced card mirroring, allowing you to display the same card on different boards. However, these mirrors are essentially "ghost cards" - they're card links displayed as cards, with several limitations:

  • Mirrors only link to source cards without preserving context

  • Users need access to the source board to view mirror content

  • Power-ups and custom fields don't appear in mirrored cards

  • Mirror cards don't appear in reports, Gantt charts, or other board-level features

Why Upgrade to Placker Advanced Mirrors

Placker's Mirrors transforms limited Trello mirrors into fully functional synchronized cards:

  • Complete Card Functionality: Convert Trello mirrors into independent cards that work with all Trello views (Calendar, Table, Timeline)

  • Full Integration: Mirrors appear in reports, Gantt charts, and work with other power-ups

  • No Permission Barriers: Team members can access and update mirrored cards without requiring source board permissions

  • Advanced Mirroring Options: Create parent/child relationships and use advanced mirroring rules

Converting Trello Mirrors to Placker Syncs

  1. Install the Advanced Mirror Power-Up on each Trello board that is either the source of the mirror, or that contains the linked card.

  2. Import your board into Placker (all your Trello linked mirrors will be automatically converted to fully synced cards)

  3. Customize mirror settings in Placker to determine which attributes are synchronized

The conversion process takes just minutes and preserves all your existing card relationships while adding full synchronization capabilities.
